It does everything I want it to do without additional accessories. I get a very clear recording of any conversation by simply putting the recorder in my shirt pocket -- no external microphone needed. You can also get a clear recording of both sides of a telephone conversation by sitting it next to your speaker phone. You might want to give this a try before spending money on the accessories.
Overall, I would rate this a high quality recorder with a very intuitive user interface.Note that the included batteries are individually wrapped in thin clear plastic which must be removed before they will work. I almost threw mine away before I noticed this.
